Welcome to the NEWCASTLE READERS website

Readers are lay ministers in the Church of England, who are licensed by a diocesan Bishop.   They are called by God and are theologically trained to preach, teach and lead worship. They also assist in many other areas of mission and ministry.  Readers can be found in many churches in the Diocese of Newcastle, working collaboratively with clergy and with other lay people.
